Worst National Security Blunder in Decades
Hegseth, Gabbard, Ratcliffe, Waltz and Others Should Be Fired Immediately
So for years Republicans screamed “But her emails!” and “lock her up!” They wanted to throw Hillary Clinton in prison over what they claimed was the colossal breach of our national security involving her use of a private server in her Westchester County, New York home which contained a couple of relatively minor classified emails. This was the greatest intelligence scandal in American history, according to Republicans.
Cut to January 2024 when former Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was hospitalized for a couple of days without him telling President Joe Biden.
“This is outrageous!”, Republicans screamed. “He must resign immediately!”
Once again they demanded accountability for what they claimed was a dereliction of duty and a serious breach of our national security.
Cut to March 24, 2025 when The Atlantic journalist Jeffrey Goldberg reported that he had been included in a Signal text chain with the nation’s top national security and intelligence officials—including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, DNI Tulsi Gabbard, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and VP J.D. Vance— that included specific war plans for an attack on Houthie rebels in Yemen just a few hours later.
Now, of course, you would think that Congressional Republicans’ heads would be exploding, right? I mean, c’mon, texting out top secret war plans on a fucking message app? To a non-administration official? A journalist? On a hackable non-government/unsecure text chain? Not a discussion in the Situation Room? Or some other SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility)?
You would think Republicans, just as they had with Cinton and Austin, would be demanding Hegseth’s resignation, as well as that of others responsible for this egregious error.
You would think Republicans would be demanding not just immediate Congressional hearings into this security reach, but an FBI/DOJ investigation as well.
Certainly, they’d be concerned with a security breach of this magnitude, which not only compromised our national security, but put our global allies on alert that America cannot be trusted with highly sensitive/top-secret intel. Which, of course, in turn, poses even greater dangers to the security of Americans and American interests both domestic and abroad.
But that’s not the world we live in right now.
And there was a hearing today held by the Senate Intelligence Committee. But it was utterly partisan. Every Democrat brought up this mounting scandal with outrage, and every Republican tried to deny its existence or excuse it.
Pathetic. Shameful. And dangerous.
And while both Gabbard and Ratcliffe did their best to dismiss, deny, obfuscate and deceive, this reality is clear: this administration is full of unqualified, incompetents from top to bottom. And if they could make a reckless mistake like this, what the fuck else are they screwing up?
This is what happens when you put a weekend Fox anchor in charge of the largest, greatest military in the world. This is what happens when you put someone like Gabbard in charge of our intelligence apparatus.
For an administration that hates DEI because they believe it puts inferior personnel in very important jobs, they’re certainly very good at doing just that.
Unfortunately, Republicans control the White House, Senate and House, so it’s highly unlikely there will be any real accountability over this colossal fuck up. There’s very little that Democrats can do given their minority position. Trump and Company—The Gang That Can’t Shoot Straight—will likely get a free pass on this just as they have with just about every other unconscionable transgression.
Because Republicans have pledged undying loyalty not to the Constitution, the rule of law, or our national security but to Donald Trump. The only standard they follow is loyalty to Donald Trump. They are weak, feckless cowards. And traitors.
But that won’t change the fact that this is the most stunning Defense Department blunder in decades, and hopefully Democrats and the media won’t let it die until Trump is forced to do what he does best: tell Hegseth, Gabbard, Ratcliffe, Waltz and/or others “You’re fired!”

Elect a clown, expect a circus.
If the rogue government couldn’t care less about it, it’s not a ‘blunder’, it’s intentional.
